Javier Mascherano will miss Argentina’s upcoming Globe Cup qualifier against Chile by means of suspension.
Ramiro Funes Mori is hoping Javier Mascherano’s absence just isn’t noticed as Argentina prepare to face Chile in their Planet Cup qualifier.
Mascherano will sit out Thursday’s CONMEBOL fixture in Santiago due to suspension immediately after choosing up yellow cards in Argentina’s qualifiers against Brazil and Colombia in November.
Funes Mori acknowledged the value of Mascherano within the Argentina side, but stated Atletico Madrid youngster Matias Kranevitter is definitely an adequate replacement for the 31-year-old.
“[Mascherano] is so crucial. Hopefully we don’t notice his absence,” Funes Mori stated.
“But we’ve got an ample squad to fill that place. We knew the class of player that Kranevitter is.
“He’s rapid, he recovers properly, he will aid us. He has fantastic intuition and can be a wonderful player.”
Funes Mori, who moved to Everton from River Plate in the off-season, said playing in the Premier League has matured him as a player.
“You go through stages with games. You’d like to find out. And that is something that becomes permanent. I feel far more mature,” the 25-year-old stated.
“At River I made errors and learnt lots. I attempt to enhance in just about every aspect and delight in as considerably as I can with good teams and players.
“I am pleased to have this continuity.”
